Angelika Brandl (AUT)

I am Angelika Brandl from Salzburg/ Austria.

In our family we always had dogs and I did tricks with my dogs when I was a child. Some of them really looked like some kind of an early agility. At the age of 25 I found my first own dog, my Asteria, as a puppy in Greece. I started Agility in self-education and soon I entered my first competition. That’s how my life changed completely. Since then, I had six dogs, all of them running in the highest grade, competing several times at EO and also at AWC. At the moment I have three Pumis, I just love the crazyness those little gremlins bring into my life.

I started judging in 2019, became international FCI judge 2021 and in the last years I judged a lot of competitions all over Europe. I was honored to judge championships, tryouts and a lot of amazing competitions in different countries.

I try to create courses with fluent lines for dogs and handlers. My special attention is on save approaches to the contact obstacles. I love it when handlers have to choose between different ways of handling and to find their own way in the course. I try to ask for lots of different skills in fast courses.

It still gives me goosebumps when I watch a «perfect» run on my course but it love to see the big, happy smile of a handler, rewarding his dog after a great run, not dependent on results.

It will be a special honor for me to judge the FCI EO 2026 and I am already looking forward to it!
